Individuals running together on a school track
Our Story

Why We Run

Two Mile Tango was born from a simple belief: that 15 minutes of running every day can change the trajectory of an individual's life — and an entire generation.

The Idea Behind the Movement

The Two Mile Tango Foundation started with a question: what if the most powerful intervention in education were cognitive behavioral courses? Join a monthly running club to improve your own mental health, and see how 2 miles per day can change your life.

We set out to bring CBT tools to every middle and high school across all 52 California congressional districts — Two miles. Every day. For every individual. Because mental health tools are necessary.

Our Mission

"To reform education across California by integrating CBT tools and courses into middle and high school programs — supporting individuals' mental, emotional, and physical well-being, one step at a time."

What We Stand For

Our Core Values

Equity

Every individual in every district deserves access to the mental and physical benefits of daily movement — regardless of zip code.

Science-Backed

Our program is grounded in decades of research linking aerobic exercise to improved academic outcomes and emotional health.

Community

Running is more powerful together. We build clubs, not just programs — connecting individuals, teachers, and families.

Persistence

Change doesn't happen overnight. We show up every day, in every district, because that's what transformation requires.

Statewide Reach

52 Districts. One Mission.

California's 52 congressional districts span urban centers, rural valleys, coastal communities, and everything in between. Our goal is to have an active Two Mile Tango running club in every single one — reaching every type of school, every type of individual.
